Ichthyosiform Lichen Planus Pigmentosus in a 19-Year-Old Male Patient: Case Report

ABSTRACT
Lichen planus pigmentosus (LPP) is a condition characterized by persistent and asymptomatic brownish-black-to-blue or purple-gray pigmentation, predominantly in the face sun-exposed areas, commonly dark-skinned individuals. Several clinical variants of LPP have been reported. However, ichthyosiform type has not We present 19-year-old male patient who presented with 7-year history grayish macules; patches fine scales on face, trunk, upper extremities; plaques thick "ichthyosiform" lower extremities. The diagnosis was proven histopathological findings both macular plaques. Cluster differentiation (CD) 68 stain highlights same density pigment-laden macrophages gray macule plaque. cause unknown. Transcription factor anomalies may play role increased keratinization lichen lesions. It can be assumed that mechanism altered distribution occur lesions this patient. terminology "ichthyosiform pigmentosus" hereby proposed to added LPP.
