ABSTRACT
Background Access to health care services is a critical determinant of population and well-being. Measuring spatial accessibility essential for understanding distribution addressing potential inequities. Objective In this study, we developed geoprocessing toolbox including Python script tools the ArcGIS Pro environment measure using both classic enhanced versions 2-step floating catchment area method. Methods Each our incorporated distance buffers travel time catchments calculate scores based on users’ choices. Additionally, separate tool create that compatible with locally available network data sets Online sources. We conducted case study focusing hemodialysis in state Tennessee 4 tools. Notably, calculation target considered age as significant nonspatial factor influencing service accessibility. Weighted populations were calculated end-stage renal disease incidence rates different groups. Results The implemented are made accessible through free use by research community. revealed disparities services, urban areas demonstrating higher compared rural suburban regions. Conclusions These can serve valuable decision-support resources providers, organizations, policy makers improve equitable access services. This comprehensive approach measuring empower stakeholders address challenges effectively.
