Scaling-up citizen workshops in public libraries to disseminate and discuss primary care research results: a quasi interventional study (Preprint)

ABSTRACT
<sec> <title>BACKGROUND</title> Little is known about engaging patients and stakeholders in the process of scaling up effective knowledge translation interventions targeting general public. </sec> <title>OBJECTIVE</title> Using an integrated approach, we aimed to scale evaluate pilot program disseminating research results public libraries. <title>METHODS</title> We conducted a scaling-up study Based on our successful project, co-developed implemented larger-scale free citizen workshops libraries, this time close partnership with patient representatives. Citizen workshops, each facilitated by one participating physician science communicator, consisted 45-min computer-assisted presentation open exchange. The intervention outcome was gained. Scale-up outcomes were satisfaction, appropriateness, coverage costs. An evaluation questionnaire used collect data interest. Participants reported significant gain (mean difference 2.1, 95% CI 2.0–2.2, P &lt; .001). Median score for overall satisfaction 9/10 (IQR 8–10). A level appropriateness globally rated participants. Coverage 92.6% total number targeted. Costs $6,051.84 CAD design $22,935.41 them up. <title>CONCLUSIONS</title> This project successfully established large-scale KT bridge between researchers, clinicians, citizens via provides model dissemination practice that benefits both directly.
