ICD Recipients´ technology readiness level and the relation to self-reported health: An exploratory study (Preprint)

ABSTRACT
<sec> <title>BACKGROUND</title> Worldwide, every year approximately 200,000 Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators (ICDs) are implanted on primary and secondary prophylactic indications. Approximately 20% of ICD recipients experience clinically significant psychological distress. Despite the acknowledged issue, there currently no national or international guidelines that specifically address management mental health issues as an integral component rehabilitation programs which also ensures adequate well-being overall quality life. Current practice is often aimed at enhancing understanding underlying disease, prognosis, preparing for a life with ICD. There need incorporating new elements, such emotional distress, social interactions prepare usage technologies in future course apps virtual communication. This necessitates development innovative approaches clinical care without increasing demand additional hours from healthcare professionals. </sec> <title>OBJECTIVE</title> We aim to demonstrate how data Readiness Health Technology Index (READHY), combined socio-demographic characteristics exploratory interviews, can be utilized construct profiles describing their ability manage condition, support, digital literacy. aims enhance professionals' different patient archetypes, serving guidance delivering personalized services tailored needs, resources, capabilities individual recipients. <title>METHODS</title> Overall, 79 participated survey assessing technology readiness using (READHY). The collected sociodemographic age, sex, educational level. Self-reported was measured Likert scale. Cluster analysis categorized participants into based READHY scores. Correlations between scores self-reported were examined. Additionally, qualitative interviews representatives provided deeper insights. <title>RESULTS</title> Four found: Profile 1 (low literacy insufficient 5 scales), 2 (sufficient all dimensions), 3 (consistently sufficient 4 (insufficient 9 dimension).
