Effectiveness and Appropriateness of mHealth Interventions for Maternal and Child Health: Systematic Review (Preprint)

ABSTRACT
<sec> <title>BACKGROUND</title> The application of mobile health (mHealth) technology in reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child (RMNCH) is increasing worldwide. However, best practice the most effective mHealth interventions have not been reviewed systematically. </sec> <title>OBJECTIVE</title> A systematic review meta-analysis studies for RMNCH around world were conducted to investigate their characteristics as well features effectiveness interventions. <title>METHODS</title> Studies between January 2011 December 2016 retrieved from 6 databases (PubMed, EMBASE, Global Health, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, VIP Database Chinese Technical Periodicals, Wanfang Data Service Medium). Comparable included a random-effects both exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) antenatal checks (ANC). Descriptive analyses with range study designs. <title>RESULTS</title> Analyses 245 included, including 51 randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Results showed that there are numbers on RMNCH. Although 2 meta-analysis, one RCTs EBF (odds ratio [OR] 2.03, 95% CI 1.34-3.08, I2=25%) other 3 ANC (OR 1.43, 1.13-1.79, I2=78%), more than usual care, almost half (43%) negative or unclear results Functions described diverse, stages covered broad. single function stage appeared be dominant among compared multiple functions stages. <title>CONCLUSIONS</title> More rigorous evaluations needed draw consistent conclusions analyze products functions, especially those popular app markets.
