ABSTRACT
Despite the fact that high doses of radiation are detrimental, low dose (LDR) often protects organism against a subsequent exposure lethal radiation. Present study was undertaken to understand role Mre11, Rad50 and Nbs1 genes in radio-adapted human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). Optimum time interval between (0.07 Gy) (5.0 (60)Co-gamma-radiation observed be 5.0 hours, at which PBMCs showed maximum LDR induced resistance (RIR). At cytogenetic level, micronuclei frequency found reduced pre-irradiated subsequently exposed (HDR) as compared controls. transcriptional with reference sham-irradiated significantly (p< or =0.05) altered expression irradiated cells. protein were enhanced only Transcriptional well translational modulation MRN complex components upon irradiation may confer its participation repair pathways, resulting resistance.
