ABSTRACT
We studied the frequency, cause, and diagnostic significance of MR findings indicative large amounts hemosiderin in giant-cell tumor bone. The clinical, MR, histologic 16 patients with tumors bone were reviewed. Eight occurred uncommon locations or who not usual age range; other eight more typical. Areas decreased signal intensity considered to be caused by identified. The number distribution RBCs within histologically, presence was determined on sections made iron stains. In 10 cases which images showed areas low intensity, noted histologically. low-signal-intensity nodular, zonal, whorled, diffuse occupied at least one fifth volume. On examination, many erythrocytes direct contact cells, seen both mononuclear multinuclear cells.Hemosiderin is commonly (63%) probably related extravasated phagocytic function cells. This finding supports diagnosis, even are typical range.
