In this short letter, we discuss the concept of egress from mass gatherings as an unrecognised area vulnerability in planning and disaster risk reduction. Current approaches isolate a physical exit, dichotomise venue exit transportation away gatherings. We historical disasters that have been contributed by flawed approach to planning. Instead, propose outbound transport be considered singular process during planning, suggest novel strategy for reduce disasters.
