ABSTRACT
The Techno Park basin, built as an extension of a small tributary the Code River primarily acts retention basin for runoff during rainy season. It improves quality water that has been degraded by domestic wastewater discharge from surrounding community. Therefore, this study aims to assess extent which can be improved with aeration technology. technology is Microbubble Generator (MBG) using 100 Watts submersible pump three horizontal nozzles at depth 40 cm surface. Furthermore, profiles dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration were measured basin’s inlet and outlet, well depths 1 m below surface bottom basin. Diurnal DO was investigate causes supersaturation. performance also determined COD parameters outlet. Discharge measurements then conducted on tributary/drainage channel result showed supersaturation attributed contribution photosynthesis phytoplankton such algae. no change in observed range (0.3 - 0.14 mg-DO/l). In eutrophic state, increased exponentially daytime hours decreased night. daily measurement increase average 2.31 mg/l (standard deviation 1.56 mg/l), CODinlet fluctuations 18.79 13.56 mg/l) CODoutlet 14.38 2.94 mg/l). Due additional coming eutrophication daylight, it not possible make precise assessment effectiveness MBG aerator.
