ABSTRACT
Hiperdominansi jenis dan biomassa adalah suatu konsep yang menjelaskan pentingnya sebagian kecil relatif terhadap rata-rata pohon pada kawasan hutan. Pemahaman ini berimplikasi upaya monitoring hutan khususnya bagi spesies penyumbang terbesar membantu pemahaman proses restorasi ekologinya. Analisis hiperdominansi kontribusi besar (DBH>50 cm) telah dilakukan di Taman Nasional Gunung Gede Pangrango (TNGGP). Sejumlah 26 plot pengamatan dibuat level ketinggian berbeda (1013-3010 m dpl) dikelompokkan menjadi tiga zona yaitu submontana, montana, subalpine. Pohon-pohon terdapat dalam kemudian 3 kelompok diameter (5-30 cm), sedang (30-50 (>50 cm). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terjadi TNGGP. Empat dari 114 teridentifikasi Schima wallichii, Altingia excelsa, Vaccinium varingiaefolium, Castanopsis acuminatissima merepresentasikan 56,96% total ada Lebih lanjut, diketahui sebagai sangat signifikan dibandingkan sedang. Pada penelitian, dengan DBH>50 cm berjumlah 192 individu (atau 13%) 1471 mampu 61,4% biomassanya. Namun demikian, hutan, memiliki sama signifikannya per hektarnya masing-masing sebesar 40,9% 38,77%.
