ABSTRACT
Chemical coagulants were immobilized into bead form using sodium alginate to treat tannery wastewater samples. The used chemical ammonium aluminium sulphate (NH4Al(SO4)2), (Al2(SO4)2, calcium carbonate (CaCO3), citrate (Na3C6HsO7). effect of the coagulant dose and pH was studied on electrical conductance (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), sulphates, chlorides, phenolphthalein alkalinity, alkalinity oxygen demand (COD). quantity various pollutants present in waste water reduced after treatment. optimized for maximum decrease EC TDS 5g/L 7, respectively. reduction amount sulphates chlorides observed at dosage 0.5g/L 7. A 7 also found most favorable values COD, phenolphtalein alkalinity. chromium concentrations before treatment determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometer. concentration promising results study demonstrate that immobilization can make them more effective
