ABSTRACT
Leaf rust, caused by Puccinia triticina Eriks. is a common and widespread disease of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), in Argentina.Host resistance the most economical, effective ecologically sustainable method controlling disease.Gene postulation helps to determine leaf rust genes (Lr genes) that may be present large group germplasm.Additionally presence Lr can determined using associated molecular markers. The objective this study was identify condition 66 cultivars from Argentina.Twenty four differential lines with individual known were tested 17 different pathotypes collected Argentina.Leaf infection types produced on seedling plants local compared same differentials postulate which present.Presence Lr9, Lr10, Lr19, Lr20, Lr21, Lr24, Lr25, Lr26, Lr29, Lr34, Lr35, Lr37, Lr47 Lr51 also markers.Eleven postulated material: Lr1, Lr3a, Lr3ka, Lr16, Lr17, Lr41.Presence could not seventeen used because all avirulent these genes.Eleven (16.7%) resistant remaining 55 (83.3%) showed virulent reaction against one or more pathotypes.Cultivars gene combinations including Lr16 single (detected marker), Lr19 Lr41, high levels them.On opposite side, Lr3a + Lr10 Lr24 highest number reactions pathotypes.Occurrence adult plant Lr35 Lr37 germplasm evaluated specific markers confirming Lr34 Lr37.Our data suggest like Lr47, Lr25 SV2, Lr46 will probably provide durable region.
