ABSTRACT
Objectives This study aims to determine the status of obesity and underweight among school-age children in Korea compare analyze dietary characteristics nutrient intake according weight status. Methods Data from a total 2,075 aged 6 11 who participated 7th 8th National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) conducted 2016 2019 were used for analysis. The height participants calculate body mass index (BMI). then classified into underweight, normal weight, overweight/obese groups. Differences socioeconomic each group analyzed. Energy, three main nutrients, rate energy supply, ratio reference intake, those below calculated group. Results indicated that 9.45% male 10.74% female while 20.57% 18.10% overweight/obese. lower parents’ education level, higher overweight/obesity children. Children skipped breakfast more than five times week had less week. Compared group, consumed vegetables, meat, fish, seafood but fruit. estimated requirements (EER) was 97% 102 108% protein recommended (RI) 144 166%, exceeding intakes all ratios vitamin A calcium RI low at 73 74% 63 69% groups, respectively.
