ABSTRACT
Background: It is controversial whether colorectal cancer (CRC) impacts intestinal microbial alpha (α) diversity, and although some studies have suggested an association between microbiota risk, few been used as a marker for CRC diagnosis. Methods: By searching PubMed BioProject databases, we reanalysed published raw 16S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) gene sequences metadata. We calculated α-diversity indices, screened the differentially enriched genera species shared among different studies, identified potential markers, finally assessed overall trend of these indices. Results: The pooled analysis showed that based on fixed-effects model, group was lower than non-cancer group, there significant heterogeneity. Heterogeneity significantly reduced or eliminated when grouped by geographic region, study scope, sequencing platform. also found gut CRC. Fusobacterium , Parvimonas Gemella Campylobacter Peptostreptococcus were only in while Faecalibacterium, Subdoligranulum Fusicatenibacter dominant group. At same time, provide evidence Faecalibacterium diagnostic value several may be markers Conclusions: This indicates composition, could indicators However, future should include more cohorts wide sample sizes to identify role
