ABSTRACT
The aim of the research is to find out changes in productivity depending on diameter tree be cut as well most important factor influencing reduction using small size forest machines thinning Latvia. The equipment used study -both harvester and forwarder Vimek. The results confirm appropriateness exact technique if harvested trees 3 30 cm.The average achieved with a head Keto Forest Eco (option 2) Norway spruce stands 8 cm weighted reached 9.59 m h -1 , deciduous 9 was 10.17 but Scots pine 12 10.19 .By Harvester according figures, no significant difference among species detected. For owner predict theoretical harvester, it possible apply equation R = K + KD * D, that statistically significant, 2 =0.85.This applicable thinnings when thinned between 4 25 cm.Forwarder's 8.63 .
