ABSTRACT
This article analyzes the question of local high-technology location and development by examining behavior companies within Orange County, a rapidly growing highway in Southern California. study reaches several important conclusions. First, firms operate according to different set factors than traditional industry making their decisions. Second, three salient, somewhat related, components govern decisions: availability professional technical personnel, general ambiance lifestyle area, desire owner/CEO live area. Third, only modified industrial infrastructure is needed; that is, are footloose decision questions proximity markets suppliers secondary. Strategies overcome high housing costs also explored.
