ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT Objective: To compare the esthetic improvement between postorthodontic white-spot lesions (WSLs) treated by resin infiltration and microabrasion for 12 months. Materials Methods: A total of 20 patients with 128 teeth WSLs were recruited. simple randomized, split-mouth, positive controlled design was used to allocate or groups. The lesion area ratio (R value) calculated a WSL labial surface corresponding tooth based on standardized clinical photographs. color change (ΔE) each measured Crystaleye spectrophotometer (Olympus, Tokyo, Japan). Every measurement taken before treatment (T0) at different time points after treatment: 1 week (T1), 6 months (T6), (T12). Results: 16 108 trial available T12. Each group had 54 teeth. In both groups, there significant decrease in R value ΔE T1 T0 (P < .0001). group, no changes over from decreased significantly T6. lower when compared every recall point .001). differences two groups any timepoint. Conclusions: Resin improved appearance showed sufficient durability better effect
