ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the dimensional accuracy fused deposition modeling (FDM)–, Polyjet-, and stereolithography (SLA)–produced models by comparing them traditional plaster casts. Materials A total 12 maxillary mandibular posttreatment orthodontic casts were selected from archives Orthodontic Department at Indiana University School Dentistry. Plaster scanned, saved as files, printed physical using three different three-dimensional (3D) printers: Makerbot Replicator (FDM), 3D Systems SLA 6000 (SLA), Objet Eden500V (Polyjet). digital caliper used obtain measurements on original well resin models. Methods: Results: Comparison between showed no statistically significant differences in most parameters. However, FDM significantly higher average than left mixed plane (MxL-MP) intermolar width (Md-IMW). Polyjet intercanine (Mx-ICW), (Md-ICW), (MdL-MP). lower right vertical (MxR-vertical), (MxL-vertical), anteroposterior (MdR-AP), (MdR-vertical), (MdL-vertical). MxL-MP, Md-ICW, overbite. MdR-vertical MdL-vertical. Conclusions: Dental reconstructed technology had fewest measurement compared models.
