ABSTRACT
Objective:. To analyze the influence of breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and nonnutritive sucking habits on prevalence open bite anterior/posterior crossbite in children with Down syndrome (DS).Materials Methods:. A cross-sectional study was carried out 112 pairs mothers/children DS between 3 18 years age at a maternal/children's hospital Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The were clinically examined for presence as well anterior posterior crossbite. Information collected using structured questionnaire. control variables mouth posture children/adolescents mother's schooling. Statistical analysis data performed chi-square test multiple logistic regression.Results:. 21%, 33%, 31%. use feeding more than 24 months (prevalence ratio [PR] = 1.6) associated occurrence bite.
