ABSTRACT
Bone marrow-derived multipotent stromal cells (BMSCs) have potent antiinflammatory effects. This study aimed to investigate the potential of BMSCs using a mouse model ligature-induced periodontitis. were isolated from femurs and tibiae mice. Periodontitis was induced by placing ligature around right maxillary second molar. After 3 days, mice administered BMSC in gingiva mesial interdental papilla ligatured The non-ligatured that not served as controls. Differences inflammatory infiltration bone resorption roots molar assessed subsequently quantified microcomputed tomography (micro-CT), histological analysis, tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) staining. Micro-CT revealed alveolar loss molars increased time-dependent manner; however, effect significantly less BMSC-treated compared with control Tissue histopathology administration mitigated In addition, number TRAP-positive osteoclasts markedly elevated those These findings indicate local can mitigate inflammation resorption, suggesting administering leads new therapeutics for
