ABSTRACT
This study evaluated the cytotoxic effects of polymethyl methacrylate resin extracts on rat macrophage viability in vitro conditions.Prepared test specimens were immersed 5 mL artificial saliva and incubated for 24, 48, 72 h at 37°C. The cytotoxicity obtained solutions extracted resins, used as a stock solution (100%) diluted with Roswell Park Memorial Institute (RPMI) medium to obtain working (50, 40, 30, 20, 10, 5%), was using 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay. No dose-dependent toxic activity culture detected three types after material extraction. shortest extraction found be completely non-toxic, 20% concentration this extract caused significant increase cell ability metabolize MTT. Extracts showed highest potential 50%, 40% 30%, 48 concentrations 5% 10% had proliferative effect line. This demonstrated that observed cells exposed 30%) h.
