ABSTRACT
It is generally admitted that the endocrine cell organization in human islets different from of rodent islets. However, a clear description islet architecture has not yet been reported. The aim this work was to describe our observations on arrangement cells.Human pancreas specimens and isolated were processed for histology. Sections analyzed by fluorescence microscopy after immunostaining hormones endothelial cells. In small (40-60 mum diameter), beta-cells had core position, alpha-cells mantle vessels laid at their periphery. In bigger islets, similar position but found also along penetrate branch inside As consequence organization, ratio constantly higher than part decreased with increasing diameter. This core-mantle segregation cells observed type 2 diabetic donors cultured Three-dimensional analysis revealed fact organized into trilaminar epithelial plates, folded degrees complexity bordered both sides. most located central frequently showed cytoplasmic extensions between outlying non-beta-cells.Human have unique allowing all be adjacent blood favoring heterologous contacts beta- alpha-cells, while permitting homologous beta-cells.
