ABSTRACT
Adipose tissue macrophage (ATM) recruitment and activation play a critical role in obesity-induced inflammation insulin resistance (IR). The mechanism regulating ATM infiltration remains unclear. In this study, we found receptor interacting protein 140 (RIP140) can regulate the dynamics of that contribute to adipose remodeling. A high-fat diet (HFD) elevates RIP140 expression macrophages. We generated mice with knockdown macrophages using transgenic bone marrow transplantation procedures blunt HFD-induced elevation RIP140. detected significant white (WAT) browning improved systemic sensitivity these mice, particularly under an HFD feeding. These have decreased circulating monocyte population altered profile WAT (a dramatic reduction inflammatory classically activated [M1] expansion alternatively [M2]), which could improve IR. studies suggest reducing monocytes/macrophages be new therapeutic strategy treating inflammation-related diseases.
