ABSTRACT
Postmortem dissection of the 18-week male conceptus, product intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), demonstrated hallmark findings sirenomelia. The lower legs were fused and left knee was rotated medially. Internal organs showed hypoplastic lungs, a multicystic kidney, unilateral ureteral hypoplasia. vitelline artery absorbed, in classic fashion, into umbilical communicated with aorta at point proximal to iliac arteries. tributaries distal this hypoplastic. This finding is consistent previously documented cases sirenomelia thought be pathogenetic mechanism resulting vascular steal from extremities. A rare presence penis on dorsal side just below perforate anus. In case report, we discuss pertinent clinical history autopsy findings. brief review give rise provided.
