ABSTRACT
Inevitably, along with other healthcare specializations, pediatric surgery was affected by the Coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) pandemic. Children were reported to manifest mild moderate symptoms and mortality primarily observed in patients aged <1 year having underlying comorbidities. Most of cases asymptomatic children, hence, posing a challenge for centers take drastic measures reduce virus transmission. Telemedicine introduced out-patient consultations conducted online as clinics closed. Elective surgeries postponed delayed appointments while sector diverted towards tackling COVID-19. Case urgency classified triaged, leading limited being performed only COVID-19 negative following an extensive screening process. The process consisted history taking RT-PCR tests.
