ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND: Specific screening for anxiety and depression in pregnant women is important to identify those at risk provide timely intervention. The aims of the study were: 1) compare four groups belonging types healthcare centers distinguished by level risk: low-risk; high-risk an obstetric reason; fetal anomalies; psychiatric conditions 2) response that National Health Service offers positively screened depression.METHODS: A cross-sectional was conducted on 2801 women, cared Service, divided into groups: low-risk pregnancy (N.=1970); reason (N.=218); 3) anomalies (N.=505); 4) (N.=108). Participants were using Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale, General Anxiety Disorder, sociodemographic, anamnestic, clinic questionnaires.RESULTS: 28.9% participants obtained EPDS Score ≥9 17.1% a GAD-7 ≥8. group presented highest prevalence (29.3%) (49.1%) while low lowest (13%) (24.6%). reasons intermediate prevalence. Psychiatric constituted higher than depression. Counselling recommended about 70% Moreover, 15% positive initiated psychotherapy 1.5% pharmacotherapy. referred other specialists.CONCLUSIONS: This underlined relevance prompt mental health needs, especially related and/or psychopathology.
