ABSTRACT
This work proposes compact multiport antennas for directional modulation (DM) on wrist-wearable devices to improve the secrecy and privacy of transmitted data. The DM performance is investigated using antenna in free-space with a human forearm-phantom. system achieves low Bit Error Rate (BER) < 10 −1 44° beamwidth, unique steerable secure direction over entire azimuth plane. Full-wave simulations including phantom at 5 GHz show realized gains up 4.26 dBi. specific absorption rate below standard limits, maximum values 0.487 W/kg 1.42 wrist-worn next-to-mouth conditions, respectively.
