ABSTRACT
This paper presents a new design of the microstrip patch antenna operated at terahertz frequencies (700-850 GHz). The conventional dimensions shrink to few microns when operating such frequencies. Thus, and its feeding network will be miniaturized extremely, their fabrications would extremely difficult. In this paper, configuration proposed is suited in way that it can modeled using multilayers structure. multilayer structure facilitates modeling, considering fabrication. has been designed three layers. top layer used model rectangular patch; while second for substrate, bottom ground plane. physical layers fed-line are optimised microwave Computer Simulation Technology (CST) simulator order enhance electrical parameters as realised gain, bandwidth, total radiation efficiencies, patterns. addition that, impact on controlling resonant frequency dominant mode (TM01) have investigated. Keeping lower higher propagating modes out band interest another aspect which addressed paper. simulated, gain fluctuates from 6.4 dBi 9.7 over range Also, provides large reflection coefficient bandwidth (S11) below -10 dB entire band. efficiency more than 75 %. Due simplicity providing could many security surveillance applications.
