Division of Chinese opinion on Russia-Ukraine War: Analyzing Key Actors’ Strategic Framing on Weibo

ABSTRACT
Is strategic framing in authoritarian regimes fully under the control of government? How could opinions on Russia-Ukraine war Chinese key actors differentiate from each other? Based theory, we use Structural Topic Models (STM) and a computational corpus-based approach to conducting discourse analysis 576 blogs produced by media outlets opinion leaders Weibo, most popular social platform China. We argue that private is internally linked influenced state terms topic distribution, trending, position. However, neutral position designedly give space for challenge dominant frame state, which reflects an actively weakening over ecosystem
