ABSTRACT
Reconversion of Mono-Industrial Urban Areas (Case Study – Beclean City). Following the collapse communist regime in Romania, country’s economy went through deep transformations, which negatively impacted standard living population. The closure a large number industrial enterprises overwhelmed Romanian cities, and its impact was felt more intensely small, mono-industrial urban areas: since many these had been established around companies, their very existence threatened by closures. city is typical example such settlement, started facing difficulties with decline metallurgical industry. In search for life saving ideas, local government decided to focus on tourism potential area, as evidenced fact that all projects under implementation aim at developing this sector.
