ABSTRACT
Plasma oxidation, similarly to anodic oxidation (anodizing), are classified as electrochemical surface treatment of metals such Al, Mg, Ti and their alloys.This type is used make castings, plastically processed products, shaped with incremental methods suitable for certain requirements.The most important role the micro plasma coating protect metal against corrosion.It well known that aluminium alloys containing silicon using causes significant difficulties.They linked eutectic nature this alloy result in a lack coverage silicon-related areas.The structure these areas discontinuous.In order eliminate phenomenon, it required apply coatings PEO (Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation) method.It allows consistent, crystalline be formed.This study presents mechanical properties applied Al-Si method.As part testing, thickness, microhardness scratch resistance were determined.On basis results obtained, was concluded thickness complies requirements conventional anodizing.Additionally, values exceeded obtained standard methods.
