ABSTRACT
Objective To describe the development of World Health Organization Disability Assessment Schedule 2.0 (WHODAS 2.0) for measuring functioning and disability in accordance with International Classification Functioning, Health.WHODAS is a standard metric ensuring scientific comparability across different populations.Methods A series studies was carried out globally.Over 65 000 respondents drawn from general population specific patient populations were interviewed by trained interviewers who applied WHODAS (with 36 items its full version 12 shortened version).Findings The found to have high internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha, α: 0.86), stable factor structure; test-retest reliability (intraclass correlation coefficient: 0.98); good concurrent validity classification when compared other recognized measurement instruments; conformity Rasch scaling properties populations, responsiveness (i.e.sensitivity change).Effect sizes ranged 0.44 1.38 health interventions targeting various conditions.Conclusion meets need robust instrument that can be easily administered measure impact conditions, monitor effectiveness estimate burden both mental physical disorders populations.
