ABSTRACT
The emplacement mode of Upper Cretaceous plutons from the southwestern part Sredna Gora Zone (Bulgaria): structural and AMS study Several located in — Bulgaria are examples Apuseni-Banat-Timok-Sredna type granites emplaced during Late (86-75 Ma) times. studied intrusive bodies spatially related to deformed by dextral Iskar-Yavoritsa shear zone. deformation along zone ceased at time undeformed Gutsal pluton, which has intruded mylonites. A clear transition magmatic foliation high-, moderate- low-temperature superimposed lineation vicinity zones gives evidence for simultaneous tectonics plutonism. Away zones, granitoids appear macroscopically isotropic were investigated using measurements anisotropy magnetic susceptibility 113 stations. samples show foliation, agreement with structures observed a few sites. Typical features internal structure several sheet-like mafic accompanied swarms microgranular enclaves. Field observations indicate spatial relationships between as well mingling processes magma chamber suggest shearing emplacement. Structural investigations (AMS) data attest controlling role NWSE trending syntectonic both igneous rocks their hosts. tectonic situation may be explained partitioning oblique plate convergence into plate-boundary-normal thrusting Rhodopes plate-boundary-parallel transcurrent hinterland (Sredna Gora).
