Abstract To assess preferences for measures that strengthen security and defense as a public good, discrete choice experiments are promising approach. For Germany, such survey-based experiment reveals strong preference the installation of European air system, but also an increase in troop size German military by 25% well creation army. these changes, there is aggregate willingness to pay approximately 11.5 billion euros.
