ABSTRACT
Objective: We aimed to compare the radiographic and functional results of extra-articular metaphyseal fractures distal radius treated with closed reduction plaster casting (CRPC) bridging external fixation (EF).Material Methods: This retrospective study included 65 patients fractures. The mean age was 55 years. Patients were divided into two groups, which called CRPC group EF group. All AO/OTA type A3. evaluated Green O'Brien Score modified by Cooney, Mayo Wrist Disabilities Arm, Shoulder, Hand (DASH) at end first year. Results: 54.32±8.61 years in 56.65±8.31 Bridging follow-up time 24.06±8.67 months 24.88±9.2 When compared radiologically during evaluation year, radial inclination length statistically significant range motions clinical examination, they There no statistical significance scores terms scoring between groups. DASH score 10.88±2.99 5.73±2.57 group, it (p<0.001).Conclusion: treatment can be recommended as one primary options A3 fractures, whose soft tissue does not allow open surgery, because is a less invasive technique provides successful results.
