ABSTRACT
In this work, powder compaction and solid-state sintering are employed to fabricate iron-based self-lubricating composites containing MoS2 graphite. Previous studies have shown that reacts with iron matrices during sintering, making the production of Fe-MoS2 challenging. We hereby demonstrate a modification in atmosphere improves composites' tribological properties due synergic effect retardation reaction increase matrix microhardness related nitrogen intake. The sintered mixed Ar/H2/N2 exhibited, on average, lower dry coefficient friction compared those Ar/H2.
