ABSTRACT
FeB-Ni hard materials demonstrate high hardness, excellent wear resistance and cost-effectiveness, establishing them as promising candidates for novel materials. To enhance its application cutting materials, it is crucial to further improve hardness fracture toughness. In this study, the performance of FeB-10Ni were enhanced through addition Al. The alterations in microstructure phase composition sintered compacts with varying Al contents analyzed. Additionally, toughness density evaluated. FeB-10Ni-Al prepared by ball milling spark plasma sintering (SPS). powder compositions exhibit from 1 10 vol.%. results showed that different successfully synthesized under following conditions: 21.6 ks, at 1373 K, holding 0.9 applying a pressure 50 MPa. With increased, newly NiAl emerged compacts, significantly enhancing both general, compared FeB-10Ni-4Al increased approximately 33% 64% respectively, while relative improved about 3%.
