ABSTRACT
Background Because dental implantation and sinus augmentation are widely performed in recent years, one of their possible complications, maxillary sinusitis, has become a major concern for both dentists otolaryngologists. This study evaluates the characteristics implant–related chronic rhinosinusitis (DIrCRS) outcome endoscopic surgery (ESS) these patients. Methods Eighteen patients diagnosed with DIrCRS from 2007 to 2012 who were recommended operation included. ESS served as first surgical choice. Dental implants not routinely removed unless there was severe periimplantitis. All data, including CT findings, collected analyzed. Results 18 had findings floor perforation or penetration by on CT. Fifteen underwent ESS. Two before did experience recurrence. Four recurrence revised They again after operation. The other nine preserved during follow-up. None 15 required Caldwell-Luc Conclusion In DIrCRS, can be used choice good prognosis low morbidity. Although most cases caused penetrating into sinus, is periimplantitis sinusitis. Nonetheless, mucosa above must kept intact
