ABSTRACT
This study aims to research the diuretic properties of ethanolic extract whole plant Setaria glauca by Lipschitz model in albino rats. Ethanolic S. was administered experimental rats orally at 2000 mg/kg p.o. The acute toxicity evaluated as per OECD guideline 420–425. LD50 found be between male (n=6) were divided up into four groups. control group given saline usual groups assess activity metabolic cages are used. II contains furosemide (10 mg/Kg, p.o.) while III and IV receive group’s vehicle. (100 mg/kg), medium (200 dosing glauca, respectively. Immediately following methanolic treatment Three placed each cage kept 21°C ± 0.5°C all hydrated with mL/kg, p.o.). urine volume measured. Each hour until conclusion 5th creature calculated. action decided based on yield. Moreover, concentration urinary sodium, chloride, potassium particles decided. Na+/K+ proportion carbonyl anhydrase movement (Cl-/(Na+/K+)) where moreover surveyed. Animals denied access nutrient water for a period 5 hours. At hours, total amount accumulated has been well levels different ions, such potassium, evaluated. Rats’ electrolytes increase because aqueous crude glauca.
