ABSTRACT
Wild species related to crops are a source of genes for improving crop tolerance biotic and abiotic stresses. Vasconcellea quercifolia V. glandulosa wild relatives papaya (Carica papaya). They the southernmost-distributed members genus have traits temperature precipitation seasonality. Climate land-use changes, however, threatening their persistence. Our objectives were identify priority ex situ conservation areas based on potential distribution both in northwestern Argentina under global change scenarios. The spp. was modeled using occurrence data five bioclimatic non-correlated variables. Distribution range shifts assessed two climate scenarios year 2050, considering changes. Gap analysis methodology applied, priorities identified by an integrated approach strategies. has wider habitat suitability area than glandulosa, effect land- use higher former latter species. Conversely, would be more negative quercifolia, synergic changes glandulosa. According gap analysis, high further germplasm collection. We conservation.
