ABSTRACT
Cardiovascular system develops from the lateral plate mesoderm. Its three primary cell lineages (hematopoietic, endothelial, and muscular) are specified by sequential actions of conserved transcriptional factors. ETV2 , a master regulator mammalian hemangioblast development, however, is absent in chicken genome acts downstream NPAS4L zebrafish. Here, we investigated epistatic relationship between avian development. We showed that deleted all 363 genomes analyzed. Mouse induced LMO2, but not or SCL, expression Squamate (lizards, geckos, snakes) contain both . In Madagascar ground gecko, genes were expressed developing hemangioblasts. Gecko only LMO2 propose present ancestral amniote, with acting endothelial lineage specification. may have acted as pioneer factor promoting chromatin accessibility endothelial-specific and, parallel loss mammals, has gained similar function regulating blood-specific genes.
