ABSTRACT
Background Intrinsic foot muscle (IFM) weakness can result in reduced function, making it crucial for clinicians to track IFM strength changes accurately. However, assessing be challenging clinicians, as there is no clinically applicable direct measure of that has been shown reliable and valid with the on ground. Purpose The purpose was investigate intra-rater inter-rater reliability a novel, budget-friendly dynamometer determine its agreement handheld (HHD). researchers also examined correlations morphology activity level strength. Study design Descriptive Laboratory Methods Two assessors measured 34 healthy volunteers (4 male, 30 female; age=21.14±2.57, height=164.66 ±7.62 cm, mass=64.45±11.93 kg) two occasions 6.62±0.78 days apart novel assess intra- reliability. HHD used first session order validity. Results For dynamometer, moderate-to-excellent (ICC = 0.73 – 0.95), majority tests were within 95% limits HHD. Wider higher number walking over prior seven had small but significant (dominant r 0.34, non-dominant 0.39; -0.33, -0.39 respectively). Conclusion This ($75) tool population. Levels evidence Level 3
