Inequidades sociales en la progresión de la COVID-19 en población mexicana

ABSTRACT
To determine if there are disparities associated with socioeconomic stratification, ethnicity, medical services, and geographic region in the progression of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) Mexican adults infected SARS-CoV-2.We analyzed data registered by General Direction Epidemiology Ministry Health Federal Government Mexico regarding confirmed cases SARS-CoV-2 infection. The analysis was limited to from 20 years older recorded up July 10, 2020 (n=234 870). Indicators severity COVID-19 were hospitalization, development pneumonia, requirement for intubation or admission intensive care unit, death. Differences estimated according level municipal marginalization, belonging an indigenous group, region, service sector. Prevalence ratios (PR) using multilevel regression models.People who lived municipalities greater marginalization at risk presenting four indicators severe forms (PR=1.05 1.06). Indigenous people pneumonia (PR=1.22), hospitalization (PR=1.14) death (PR=1.23). Among treated private health sector, lower (PR=0.40), but use unit higher (PR=4.45).The trends observed indicate that effects not only related biological characteristics SARS-CoV-2, also resources (or lack thereof) deal it, which distributed social processes.
