ABSTRACT
Introduction: Mosquitoes are slender, flying insects of the order diptera (true flies) in arthropod Super-Phylum.They deadly transmitting diseases such as malaria, elephantiasis and several arboviruses. The adaptability mosquitoes is a problem this tantamount to greater spread diseases.Malaria most widespread mosquito borne disease Nigeria where it holoendemic. Aim:The source malaria diverse breeding sites mosquitoes. This work investigates preferred water sites, physicochemical factors colour cues influencing oviposition development mosquitoes. Methods: Investigations were carried out on wild during rainy season.100 CL collected from five samples each packaged water, polluted pond tap rain water. The transferred green transparent containers (200CL) left opened well ventilated laboratory overnight for four weeks.Daily temperature weekly Hydrogen ion concentration (ph) container taken. Results:It was observed that oviposited ten continuously. The two genera identified Anopheles Culex specie using their developmental stages morphotaxonomic indices.More spp (57.2%) than (42.7%) although not statistically significant. The had more while species with no regard container.Green did serve significant cue oviposition.Packaged least both species. There differences Ph ranges all sampled containers. Conclusion:Mosquito occur right homes humans indulge malariogenic lifestyles.Objects, excavations, plants anything can hold must be eliminated.Water storage should always covered. This suggests control programmes put into place mosquitoes.Enforcement environmental sanitation by cleaning drainages open gutters around will go long way.Education populace advocated.
