ABSTRACT
Background/Aim: The effect of surgical intervention on the quality life and survival patients presenting with metastatic breast cancer is a controversial issue. In this study, we aimed to reveal survival, clinical, pathological differences in who had disease at diagnosis underwent did not undergo surgery for primary tumor our clinic evaluate efficacy approach course disease. Methods: retrospective cohort data clinics between January 2000 June 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. study included those include male patients, non-breast tumors, died causes unrelated cancer, foci other than tumor, could be followed up regularly various reasons. there two groups; received only systemic therapy assigned Group 1, while treatment 2. clinicopathological groups examined. Results: Surgical was performed 62 patients. 4-year rates higher (Group 1: 59.6 [14.7%], 2: 83.5 [6%]). comparison showed longer median 2 surgery, albeit statistically significant (77 [11.23] months 1 84 [18.91] [P=0.16]). Conclusion: conclusion, that may have positive effects survival.
