ABSTRACT
Maize MON 87429 was developed to confer tolerance dicamba, glufosinate, quizalofop and 2,4-D herbicides. The molecular characterisation data bioinformatic analyses do not identify issues requiring food/feed safety assessment. None of the identified differences in agronomic/phenotypic compositional characteristics tested between maize its conventional counterpart needs further assessment, except for levels phytic acid grains, which raise nutritional concerns. GMO Panel does concerns regarding toxicity allergenicity DMO, PAT, FT_T CP4 EPSPS proteins as expressed 87429. finds no evidence that genetic modification impacts overall In context this application, consumption food feed from represent a concern humans animals. concludes is safe non-GM reference varieties tested, post-market monitoring considered necessary. case accidental release viable grains into environment, would environmental plan reporting intervals are line with intended uses 87429, described respect potential effects on human animal health environment.
