ABSTRACT
Abstract Following a request from the European Commission, EFSA was asked to deliver scientific opinion on safety and efficacy of an essential oil aerial parts Mentha × piperita L. (peppermint oil) when used as sensory additive in feed water for drinking all animal species. The Panel Additives Products or Substances Animal Feed (FEEDAP) concluded that peppermint is safe species at maximum use level 12 mg/kg complete feed. FEEDAP considered provided total daily intake does not exceed amount consumed via No concerns consumers environment were identified following up proposed Regarding user safety, under assessment should be irritant skin eyes dermal respiratory.
