ABSTRACT
Temulawak or Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb, is usually used as traditional medicine (herbal medicine) that has antioxidant, anticancer, antihyperglycemic, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective and gastroprotective properties. The main components contained in temulawak responsible for its efficacy a are xantorhizol curcuminoid. Curcuminoid drawbacks, which difficult to absorb very quickly metabolized by the body, so limit bioavailability. use of solid lipid nanoparticle carrier system (SLN) form palmitic acid, known improve bioavailability This study aims find effective dose nanocurcuminoid coated with acid can be an anti-inflammatory agent. methods this study, include production homogenization ultrasonication methods, determination particle size, polydispersity index, entrapment efficiency activity test through rat feet edema. Nanocurcuminoid obtained was 561.53 nm index 0.309 concentrations curcuminoid absorbed were 0.61±0.031 mg/mL, 58.93±3.021%, respectively. Anti-inflammatory treated Sprague Dawley rats, showed there no significant difference compared positive control, extracts empty nanoparticle. These results indicate 175, 200 250 mg/kg.bw doses, greater (31.70%) other treatments.
