ABSTRACT
Marine areas are affected by different atmospheric phenomena such as wind and storm. In this research the effect of a large scale phenomenon, known Winter Shamal Wind, is investigated on regime currents waves in northwest part Persian Gulf. This normally occurs for period three to seven days, during December early March. MIKE21 Coupled Model FM was applied study pattern current period. To provide hydrodynamic data model validate simulated results, ECMWF mast meteorology coastal synoptic station Bushehr wave buoy located offshore used. The results indicated only slight increase speed with no significant change direction showing stable height propagation Wind comparison days prior show changes. maximum area under investigation reaches up 1 m/s almost meter higher than that normal situation.
