Development of Science Teaching Materials Based on Ecological Value of Mangrove Ecosystems as a Strategy to Improve Science Literacy of Junior High School Students on the South Coast of East Lombok

ABSTRACT
Environmental characteristics in coastal areas receive less attention from educational aspects, especially schools integrating with science learning. This research aims to develop mangrove ecological value-based teaching materials as a strategy improve students' literacy. The methods used are observation and quasi-experiments. Data analysis uses descriptive statistical using, then the normality homogeneity test is done SPSS 17.0. Next, hypothesis using ANOVA One Way. literacy ability of learners measured pre-test post-test questionnaires. results showed that worth based on expert teacher validation. response developed very interesting. significance abilities obtained Levene scores > 0.05 which means data homogeneous. Based H0 was rejected, there significant increase student after value ecosystems. effectiveness evidenced by percentage changes learners' average results. highest grade score 80.35%, lowest 79.44%. conclusion students’ skills, East Lombok. Therefore, it necessary utilize location's potential source learning be more attractive.
